Ragan took the lead from his Roush-Fenway Racing teammate, Carl Edwards on lap 199 and had to hold him off during the closing laps.

“I raced with Carl. It was fun racing with a teammate,” Ragan said. “I was able to pin him behind a lapped car. I don’t think I would have passed him (otherwise), because he was running that middle groove, and I just couldn’t get around him.”

“He played me the way he should have,” Edwards said. “He got me behind a lapped car and got me pinned. … I can’t say enough about David Ragan. He’s a great guy.”

Edwards scored a runner-up finish which moved him up one and back into 2nd in the point standings and gave him some ground on the series leader, Kyle Busch. Busch went from a 339 point lead down to a 248 point lead.

While in the lead and working lap 53, Busch crashed into rookie Chase Austin, who blew a tire and slid in front of Busch. The impact forced Busch hard into the wall.Reed Sorenson was collected in the wreck. Debris was scattered on the race track forcing a red flag for 15 minutes and 45 seconds.

“I saw a slow car up high, and he came right across the nose, right in front of me,” Busch said. “I didn’t know where to go except where I was going. I had Harvick on my outside, and he was able to miss it. Pretty unfortunate there that we got caught up in that mess.” He finished 28th, 59 laps down.

Polesitter Brad Keselowski finished 3rd followed by Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, Jason Leffler, rookie Michael Annett, Paul Menard and rookie Michael McDowell completing the top-10.
