Polesitter Skinner led all but 20 laps in the 200 lap race. The final caution came out with 7 laps to go, but he once again was able to jump out in front of the field on the final restart to win by 1.370 seconds.

We know Skinner excels on short tracks. The win at Iowa Speedway was his 17th short track victory and 27th career win.

“The motor died coming off (Turn) 4,” Skinner said. “I don’t know if it was a (fuel) pickup thing or vapor lock or what it did. I think it might have boiled some fuel or something. I just nursed her along there and this thing was so fast through the corner, it didn’t matter what it was doing tonight.”

Aric Almirola finished second, a career best. “Anytime you’re running second, you’ve got to think you have a shot to win the race,” Almirola said. “But Skinner was unbelievable tonight. Our truck just wasn’t good enough to do that.”

Colin Braun finished third followed by Ron Hornaday Jr. and Johnny Sauter completed the top-5.

Ron Hornaday Jr. leads the point standings by 225 points over 2nd place Matt Crafton with 9 races remaining in the truck season.

Iowa Speedway is the second new track added to the Camping World Truck Series schedule for this season. Last weekend, the series made their debut at Chicagoland Speedway.
