Newman fastest in practice, Stewart bangs in bumper

Ryan Newman turned the fastest speed during the first practice session as his ‘Bossman’ Tony Stewart had a fender-bender at Martinsville Speedway on Friday!

Newman circled the track the faster than any of the others after turning a lap at 96.934 mph in 19.535 seconds. His Stewart-Haas team owner didn’t fare so well.
Mark Martin was second (19.550 at 96.859) on the board followed by Marcos Ambrose (19.552 at 96.849), Jeff Gordon (19.559 at 96.815) and Denny Hamlin (19.568 at 96.770).
